Bardia National
Park is situated about 420 km. in the mid far western Terai and
east of Karnali River. It covers about 950sq.km. and spread to
inner valley with tropical dry land to Churia hills. Most of
land is covered with dominantly hardwood sal tree, Gignatic Simal
trees and forest of grassland. The park provides excellent habitat
for endangered animals, birds and reptiles. The reserve is the
best place to see Bengal Tiger.
During the Jungle drive or Elephant Safari in Bardia, you can
observe more than 30 different mammals, 200 species of birds,
reptiles as well as aquatic animals. The animals like one-horned
rhinoceros, spotted deer, Sambhar deer, Swamp Deer (Barasinghe),
Hog deer, Blue Bull (Nilgai), Wild Boar, wild oxen. Serow, Goral
and Himalayan Tahr, Langur (monkey), Mongoose, large number of
birds, different species of storks, Jungle fowls, King-fishers,
Cormorants, Egret, Bengal florican, Silver-eared Mesia and Saurus
crane. Those are the most popular attraction of this national
